The role of the Industry Research & Development Liaison will be to apply this unique combination of skills and knowledge to improve the competitiveness of Irish SMEs and MNCs, and thus make a significant contribution to economic development. More specifically, he/she will need to identify opportunities for engagement, approach prospective industry or semi-state partners and negotiate with them the terms of our engagement. ICHEC have traditionally assisted Enterprise Ireland and IDA Ireland client companies whenever invited to do so. The target is to generate €2.3m of revenues by December 2015.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate should have a track record in a research and development environment and a strong record in creative problem solving (for possible application of novel technologies to both industry and/or the public sector) is essential. Applicants must have a degree, and a post graduate degree in a relevant area such as science & engineering, mathematics or computer sciences, or equivalent professional experience. The ideal candidate would have experience in business development or technology transfer in a technological area. Candidates should have excellent communication and organizational skills; be highly motivated and passionate about developing new products, and have strong documentation, oral and interpersonal skills. Prior experience in business development or technology transfer in a technological area is also highly desirable. Experience of interacting with Enterprise Ireland, IDA Ireland and Science Foundation Ireland would be an advantage; a good knowledge of their policy in relevant areas is equally desirable.

Salary Range: : €58,991- €77,489 per annum (public sector pay policy pertaining to new entrants will apply).
