Eoin joined ICHEC back in 2005 when the first national service systems Walton and Hamilton were being commissioned. Since then he's been involved in the procurement, commissioning, operation and support of all ICHEC's compute and storage services, and was responsible for the technical work involved in integrating ICHEC with the PRACE Research Infrastructure across Europe. Due to his broad range of experience across systems and software he's equally at home deploying a complex national scale infrastructure, debugging a low level kernel problem or getting someone's C++ or Fortran working reliably.

During his time with ICHEC he also spent time on secondment to EPCC at the University of Edinburgh to work on the commisioning of Phase 1 of the HECToR national service for the UK. Prior to ICHEC he worked for MCS, Intel Ireland and Tellabs in variety of roles including systems administration, software development and software testing.

He graduated from NUI Galway in 2002 with a B.Eng. degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering
