Eoin McHugh joined ICHEC in September 2005 as a System Administrator during the commissioning of the Walton and Hamilton systems. As a System Administrator, Eoin has a diverse range of technical responsibilities including: administration of ICHEC's HPC systems; operational support of Met Éireann; user support via the Helpdesk; administration of the core non-HPC ICHEC infrastructure; custom software and web development.

While working for ICHEC, Eoin also spent some time on secondment at Edinburgh Parallel Computing Centre (EPCC) during the commissioning of phase one of the HECToR national supercomputing service in the UK.

Prior to joining ICHEC he spent a number of years working in industry as both a System Administrator and Software Developer for companies including semiconductor manufacturing giant Intel and Irish subsea engineering firm MCS. He studied as an undergraduate in NUI Galway graduating with a B.Eng. (Hons) degree in Computer and Electronic Engineering.
