Dr. Shiyu Wang
Shiyu received his BSc in Atmospheric Sciences from Nanjing university,Nanjing, China and later receved his PhD in 2001. His PhD work invovled diagnostic analysis of summer monsoon and developing regional atmosphere-ocean coupled model for South China Sea Region. Therereafter, he worked as a postdoctoral reseacher in Chinese Academy of Meteorological Sciences for GRAPES project(Global and Regional Assimilation Prediction Enhanced System of China).
From 2003, he worked as a climate modeller for C4I project (Community Climate Change Consortium for Ireland) in Met Eireann. His research focused on regional climate modelling, extreme events and coastal flooding (storm surge and wave).
In 2008 he joined University College Dublin as an EPA reseach fellow. His research focused on developing a state-of-art regional atmosphere-ocean coupled model for Irish waters.
He joined ICHEC in December, 2009 under EPA STRIVE Programme. His research invovles extreme events analysis and atmosphere-ocean coupled model developing.
