ICHEC provides expertise in a range of areas including data mining, GPGPU acceleration, networking, cloud computing application migration, software profiling & optimisation, software re-engineering, numerical modelling, simulation, physics, chemistry, mechanical engineering, bioinformatics, visualisation and training.
All projects are managed using the PRINCE2 framework by qualified practitioners. All ICHEC projects are undertaken at a fixed cost with clearly agreed deliverables at the outset ensuring very competitive rates. This enables customers to make a thorough cost-benefit analysis before the work starts. All projects are carefully specified in consultation with the client before any work starts. This approach ensures that client expectations are met both in terms of cost and of business benefits.
Clients will use their existing Internet connection to access ICHEC resources. The connections to ICHEC systems can be made either using virtual private networking (VPN) or using the secure shell protocol (SSH) across standard ports.
