ICHEC Industry Consultation EventPosted on 29 October 2013
Taking place on Friday 1st November 2013, the Irish Centre for High-End Computing – (ICHEC) will be hosting Industry Consultation event at the Merrion Hotel, Dublin 2, in partnership with IDAC Ireland Ltd. Supporting government policy in relevant areas such as technology transfer and industry engagement in the context of the Action Plan for Jobs 2013. The event will highlight the importance of High-End-Computing to achieve innovative, robust designs, by applying computer simulations to solve complex engineering problems, improve performance and ultimately reduce manufacturing costs.
With speakers from High-End-Computing leading research Centre, innovation and solution providers, the day’s agenda is driven by industry-based case studies, with hardware landscape analysis, and showcase on the new High-End-Computing service for SME’s provided in partnership by ICHEC and IDAC.
Dr Herbert Güttler from Microconsult Engineering Germany, a partner to IDAC Ireland, will outline the high performance computing capabilities in ANSYS Mechanical and provide hands-on practical advice on hardware and software configurations.
In addition, Gearóid Mooney, Enterprise Ireland's director of Research and Innovtion, will present a keynote on how start-ups can leverage Enterprise Ireland funding to cover up to 80% of R&D project costs. He will also be talking about how companies can tap into technological and innovation expertise in third-level institutions.
This event promises to be one of the most engaging events for companies looking to explore the new prospects in High-End-Computing to maximise on their R&D strategy, business efficiency and ROI.
Who should attend? The event is aimed at companies, of all sizes operating within Engineering and Medical devices sector who are interested in Computer-Aided-Engineering (CAE) simulation technologies and best application practices.
The event is ideal for:
• CIO/ CTO
• Heads of IT
• VP’s of Technology
• Business Development Managers
• CAE Simulation Engineers
