DCU based researchers Neil Costigan and Prof. Michael Scott have successfully cracked the McEliece cryptography system as part of an international effort which announced the achievement at the recent Post-Quantum Cryptography conference. Costigan and Scott used time on ICHEC's Walton cluster to make the breakthrough. Neil Costigan peresented details of the work to the ICHEC user community at the recent ICHEC Seminar.
