Stefano Sanvito received his Laurea (M.Sc. equivalent) in Theoretical Physics from the University of Milan in 1994. Where he then undertook a one year Post-Laurea fellowship. Following this he received his Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics in 1999 from the University of Lancaster and UK Defence and Evaluation Research Agency.
From 1999 to 2001 he held a position with the Materials Dept. of the University of California, he then moved to Trinity College Dublin, where he is now a Professor in the School of Physics. He is a Principal Investigator in the Centre for Research on Adaptive Nano-structures and Nano-devices.
