Energy; the key challenge facing Mankind

Abstract:

97.9% of the total primary energy supply in Ireland is derived from combustible fuels yet there is virtually no understanding of this basic fact at government level or its agencies. In this talk I provide a context for the research work undertaken at the Combustion Chemistry Centre and outline some of the challenging computational requirements, some of which have been met from ICHEC resources.
