ICHEC provides a number of different mechanisms to access High-Performance Computing (HPC) resources.
Full National Service is the primary mechanism through which researchers gain access to ICHEC High-Performance Computing resources. It provides access to general purpose computing resources, ranging from short "Discovery" projects to large multi-year "Grand Challenge" consortia.
National Capability Service provides researchers access to Capability Computing systems available in the form a local IBM Blue Gene supercomputer and additional Blue Gene facilities abroad.
Users from University College Dublin and National University of Ireland. Maynooth are able to gain alternate access to the Stokes supercomputer via their own University's share of the system. This is due to a part-ownership that each of these two institutions have in Stokes.
New users to ICHEC (excluding project applicants) are required to fill out a registration form before joining an existing project. Online account registration is currently unavailable but will be provided via a new project management system shortly. Please contact systems@ichec.ie with your registration request and we will get back to you to arrange the relevant details.
