ICHEC collaborates with Colfax International

Posted on 17 July 2015

ICHEC’s Dr. Enda O’Brien spent 2 days in June working with Dr. Vadim Karpusenko and Dr. Ryo Asai from Colfax International to prepare the Harmonie weather model to exploit future "many-core" Xeon Phi KNL processors. The collaboration was very fruitful as all parties had very similar interests and complementary expertise. Everyone went away with new ideas to think about and of course, even more work to do! ICHEC looks forward to further opportunities to collaborate with Colfax on the exciting and vital challenge of modernising software for next generation Intel Xeon Phi processors and thanks Intel for their strong support under the Intel Parallel Computing Centre (IPCC) program.
