- Apply a number of security updates to Hamilton.

See http://www.ichec.ie/status for information updates.

2 – Access to Blue Gene
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Open Day: each Wednesday, existing ICHEC Class B PIs may gain access to the dev cab (BG /L) to assess the portability and scalability of their application before committing to prepare a full Class A application. Access will be restricted to the dev cab to minimise disruption to the work of the Capability Computing PIs. Interested Class B PIs need to give ICHEC at least one week's notice via the helpdesk.

Further details can be found at http://www.ichec.ie/national_capability_service

------------------------------------------------------------------------
3 – Users Council
------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Users Council has been established. The Council's co-chairs, Prof. Stefano Sanvito and Dr. Jiri Vala, can be contacted at ucchair@lists.ichec.ie if you would like to raise any issues with them.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
4 - Acknowledging ICHEC in publications / reporting publications
------------------------------------------------------------------------

We would appreciate a formal acknowledgment of ICHEC by inclusion in any resulting publications of the following sentence or some variation thereof:

"The authors wish to acknowledge the SFI/HEA Irish Centre for High-End Computing (ICHEC) for the provision of computational facilities and support."

See our FAQ.

We would also appreciate if you could let us know when such publications are being accepted for publication, as this constitutes one of the major metrics by which the scientific impact of ICHEC will be assessed.

This list will be kept up to date at http://www.ichec.ie/publications.

Regards,
niall
