BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition 2017

Once again, we attended the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition 2017, at the "World of Science & Technology" exhibition hall (beside the RTE Weather booth). Over 12-14 January, ICHEC staff enjoyed meeting all the students, parents, teachers, and members of the general public at our booth in the RDS.

This year, our exhibits included:

  • A presentation-demo of remote sensing enabled by satellite images and High Performance Computing.
  • A virtual reality tour of our supercomputer, Fionn.
  • A medical imaging demo powered by cutting edge HPC technology (special thanks to Carson Brownlee & James Jeffers from Intel for their contribution and support).
  • An exhibit and interactive quiz on the scale of data, do you know how much data the Empire State Building could hold?
