Horizon 2020 Collaborations

Horizon 2020 is the biggest EU Research and Innovation programme ever with nearly €80 billion of funding available over 7 years (2014 to 2020) – in addition to the private investment that this money will attract. It promises more breakthroughs, discoveries and world-firsts by taking great ideas from the lab to the market.

As a young and dynamic organisation with a strong entrepreneurial culture, a passion for innovation and a track record of international collaboration, ICHEC have been actively leveraging the EC's Horizon 2020 programme to develop and support a number of its R&D activities through HPC outside of Ireland. 

As of August 2017, ICHEC has taken part in 21 H2020 proposals (plus one in preparation) and received funding for 8 projects, leveraging €2.3m of EC funding in the process. Our success rate stands at 38%, which is particularly impressive when considered in relation to the average success rate of only 14% for H2020 ICT calls. Our current portfolio includes:
