Niall Guerin

Niall gained an MSc in Data Analytics and Machine Learning from the University of Galway.

He has a B.A. (Information Studies, Geography), a GDip in Information Technology, and MIT Systems Engineering professional certification in two modules: Architecture of Complex Systems and Models in Engineering.

Niall has a broad commercial technologist background covering R&D, systems integration validation, code performance optimisation, implementation consultant - developer, and cybersecurity. He worked for SAP for several years covering IT planning and architecture for middleware upgrade-migrations, software logistics solution implementation, and security (SSO, encryption) for on-premise, public cloud, and private cloud projects with focus on energy and utilities, pharmaceutical, banking, and manufacturing sectors.

He created a bespoke domain-specific question-answering system which he later reworked to include open-source modules for IR, NLP, and integrated ML to assist him in IT project tasks.

Niall joined ICHEC as a Platform Engineer in July 2023.
