Access to HPC
All the researchers belonging to an Irish third-level institutions Ireland are entitled to ICHEC's computational resources. In order to access those resources:
- Register an account.
- Once your account is approved, active users can apply for two different mechanisms to access computational cycles in ICHEC HPC machines
These mechanisms are not mutually exclusive and users can use both simultaneously.
First-time ICHEC users should register for an ICHEC account, which must then be associated with an ICHEC National HPC Service project, i.e. you can apply for a new project or join an existing one already granted to someone else (who must approve your application to join his/her project via the web portal). The different classes of projects available, their specifications, the amount of compute resources available and application requirements can be found here.
Alternatively, users can get access to ICHEC compute resources through the Condominium Access facilitated by their own institution. Both access mechanisms are not mutually exclusive; users can use both simultaneously.
