Update from NCC Ireland

NCC Ireland enters a new phase with the launch of EuroCC 3

EuroCC 3 project is the third phase of the European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) aimed at consolidating the network of National Competence Centres (NCCs) for High Performance Computing (HPC) across Europe. The project supports the wider use of advanced computing technologies in research, industry, and the public sector.

EuroCC 3 is funded by the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking under Grant Agreement No. 101306701. It runs from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2029 and brings together 36 National Competence Centres from EU Member States and Associated Countries. It is coordinated by the High-Performance Computing Center Stuttgart (HLRS) in Germany. It builds on the work completed in EuroCC (2020–2022) and EuroCC 2 (2023–2026).

NCC Ireland, led by ICHEC, has entered a new phase with the launch of EuroCC 3. NCC Ireland plays an important role in developing HPC expertise, supporting adoption, building industry partnerships, and promoting digital innovation in Ireland. Over the next three years, it will continue to support SMEs, researchers, universities, and public organisations in using advanced computing technologies.

Through EuroCC 3, NCC Ireland will help strengthen the Irish HPC ecosystem. The main areas of work include communication and outreach, user support and service management, engagement with SMEs and the public sector, and training and skills development.

For more updates, visit the NCC Ireland webpage. EuroCC 3 is also part of the new HPC in Europe ecosystem. This provides a single access point to NCCs, Centres of Excellence (CoE), and other EuroHPC initiatives, making it easier to find services, expertise, training, and collaboration opportunities across Europe.
